iMedX widens its national reach into the Mid-Atlantic region

Bridgeport, Connecticut — March 12, 2007 — iMedX Inc., a leading healthcare software and services company, announced today that it has acquired Tidewater Medical Transcription Services Inc., (TMTS). TMTS, founded in 1999, currently serves medical clinics in Virginia and North Carolina, with a US-based transcription workforce. With the acquisition of TMTS, iMedX gets deeper penetration into medical clinics in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States, and can utilize TMTS’s network of US-based medical transcriptionists to complement its large, scalable workforce in India. Using iMedX’s revolutionary TurboScribe® platform for medical transcription, iMedX’s customers enjoy the benefit of an efficient transcription workflow and ease of management. With TurboScribe’s integration with leading Electronic Medical Record (EMR) products, iMedX’s customers will progress towards a paperless environment and a higher quality of care. TMTS’s customers will benefit from the ease of use of the TurboScribe® technology and will see efficiencies in the paperless workflow that TurboScribe® provides. With its combination of innovative technology coupled with a scalable back-office infrastructure in India and the U.S, iMedX is now positioned to more rapidly expand its product and service offering of complete medical transcription technology and outsourcing services to healthcare providers throughout the U.S. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Venkat Sharma, iMedX’s president and CEO, along with the current iMedX management team, will continue to lead the combined company. “With the recent emphasis on pay-for-performance and quality of care in the healthcare industry, it is incumbent on medical providers to rapidly innovate and change in order to maintain a high level of healthcare quality,” stated Venkat Sharma, iMedX’s president and CEO. “Forward-thinking companies, such as iMedX, with a scalable and seamless worldwide workforce and a strategy to digitize and convert paper and dictation records into valuable medical information are critical to achieving significant improvement in the quality of care. Government mandates and bi-partisan efforts to improve efficiencies in this $1.6 trillion industry make this effort all the more important for providers to step up to a higher level of technology implementation and removal of the status quo” Mr. Sharma adds “This acquisition is an essential part of our strategy to grow through direct sales as well as acquisitions, and propagate TurboScribe® software throughout our customers.
